Le Massif de Charlevoix shines in fall colors

From mid-September to late October, Le Massif de Charlevoix invites outdoor and nature enthusiasts to celebrate the vibrant fall season. The mountain, blanketed in shades of red and gold, contrasts beautifully with the deep blue of the St. Lawrence River below, creating breathtaking autumn panoramas. Located at the heart of a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, this four-season destination offers a variety of activities for all interests, set against a stunning natural backdrop.

A colorful playground
In the fall, every activity takes on a whole new dimension. Whether mountain biking, hiking, trail running, or simply enjoying a picnic, the vivid autumn scenery provides an immersive experience well worth the trip.

The gondola ride is a highlight, offering exceptional views of the forest as it transforms along the way. For a tasty break, the Camp Boule Express is open until October 13, following current operating hours, with lunches available to enjoy on-site or take away.

Families and beginner cyclists can also try adventure biking, an accessible way to explore the mountain while soaking in the vibrant fall colors.

Autumn highlights

  • Souvenir Le Massif invites mountain biking enthusiasts to ride the Histoire sans fin Trail and enjoy a free professional photo session. Sessions will take place on September 6, September 20, and October 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

  • Le Massif Souvenir x Dominique Maltais invites biking passionates to take part in a contest for the chance to ride the mountain with the Olympic champion and destination ambassador on Saturday, September 20. Winners will receive a pair of full-day tickets for the day, a signed gift from the athlete, a group photo, and their own Le Massif Souvenir.

  • Sunrise Snapshot welcomes photography lovers to capture the beauty of the first light of day from the iconic Buton lookout, guided by a professional photographer. Departures are scheduled for September 27 and October 4 at 5:30 a.m. from the summit chalet.

From base to summit, apartments, chalets, refuges, and studios provide all the comfort needed to suit any lifestyle or preference. Regardless of the option chosen, gondola rides are free for the entire stay, allowing visitors to enjoy multiple viewpoints and fully immerse themselves in the breathtaking fall landscapes.
