20 km of hiking trails

Come and discover the hiking trails of the Massif de Charlevoix with their spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River. Departures are from both the top and the base of the mountain and you can access the hiking trails completely free of charge.

You also have the option of adding a gondola ride to your hike up or down to make your day even better.


The Massif de Charlevoix offers dozens of kilometres of trails between the sea and the mountain for hikers of all levels. Come and enjoy exceptional sites that will undoubtedly boost your well-being.


Dates of Service

The mountain will be open every day from June 19th to July 4, 2021, and from July 16th to August 1, 2021. In addition to these four weeks, you can enjoy our facilities from Friday to Sunday during the following weekends:

  • July 9 to 11, 2021;
  • August 6 to 8, 2021;
  • August 13 to 15, 2021;
  • August 20 to 22, 2021;
  • August 27 to 29, 2021;
  • September 3 to 6, 2021;
  • September 10 to 12, 2021;
  • September 17 to 19, 2021;
  • September 24 to 26, 2021;
  • October 1 to 3, 2021;
  • October 8 to 11, 2021.

 

Dates of Service of the Gondola 

The gondola will be in service on Saturdays as well as June 24th, July 1st and during the two-week construction holiday. Depending on activity, the gondola may open on Fridays and Sundays.

***The gondola ticket is valid for a single return trip on the same day. It is possible to get off the gondola at the base or at the top to enjoy the hiking trails and take another gondola ride later in the day. Please note that one-way tickets are not available.

 

Hiking Trails Descriptions

LE LUGERON : 3,5 KM

This trail is set on a rock dust terrain and is relatively flat with no major obstacles. It ends at the Luge Refuge 1 and meets with the Gabrielle-Roy-Ouest trail. From there you can access the Refuge Liguori. Refuge 1 offers a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence River and the Isle-aux-Coudres. It is the perfect place to take a break or enjoy a delicious picnic. You can access this trail at the top of the mountain, behind the snow school.

• One hour hike;
• Path accessible to all hikers.

DES CRÊTES : 3,1 KM

This is a narrow path with obstacles and a large drop that offers magnificent views of the St. Lawrence River and the Petite Butte Ronde. You have the option of doing a small loop of 1.2 km to go to the Button trail of Charlevoix. This trail meets with the La Promenade trail which leads to the base of the mountain. You can access the Des Crètes trail at the top of the mountain, near the Maillard chairlift, or at the base of the mountain from the La Promenade trail.

• Hike lasts around 1 hour and 25 minutes;
• Ideal trail for occasional hikers.

LA PROMENADE : 3,1 KM

This trail is set on a rock dust terrain and has no obstacles. It leads to the viewpoint at the Petite Butte Ronde at an altitude of 258 meters. There, you will discover an exceptional view of the St. Lawrence River and the mountain’s unique forest ecosystem. This trail allows you to take the Des Crètes trail and reach the top of the mountain. You can access this trail at the base of the mountain or from the bottom of the Anguille trail.
