School Programs: Renewal of Agreements with École Saint-François and Centre éducatif Saint-Aubin

Le Massif de Charlevoix is renewing its partnerships with École Saint-François and Centre éducatif Saint-Aubin for the 2024-2025 school programs, to the satisfaction of all parties involved and to ensure continued benefits for the youth of Charlevoix.
Established in 2022 for students attending local institutions such as the Petite-Rivière-Saint-François Elementary School and Baie-Saint-Paul High School, these programs have evolved over the years and have even been enhanced in some cases to better meet the needs of educational institutions and their students.
The agreement with the Centre éducatif Saint-Aubin notably includes free access to the mountain for participants in the “Unité de rattrapage” program and their chaperones, an advantageous and exclusive rate on ski tickets, lessons, and equipment rentals for participants in the “Plein-air” program, as well as an annual school outing at a privileged rate for all students of the institution. For the third year of the “Sports de montagne” program, participants will benefit from an exclusive rate on the seasonal ski pass, which will be enhanced with cycling outings in the fall.
Students at École Saint-François will also benefit from free access to the mountain, particularly as part of the school ski outings (3rd cycle) and the annual school outing for all students. After a three-year pause due to a limited number of available instructors, preschoolers will once again enjoy free access to the mountain as part of the ski initiation program, which will return in 2024-2025. An exclusive preferential rate will also be offered to participants for ski lessons and equipment preparation.
Martine Vallée, Executive Director of the Centre de services scolaire de Charlevoix, added: "One of our objectives is to extend learning beyond the classroom and allow our youth to access Charlevoix's exceptional natural heritage. The partnership with an organization like Le Massif provides our students with the opportunity to explore the spectacular playground that the mountain offers, while also delivering numerous benefits such as better stress management and improved academic perseverance."
Regional accessibility is among the priorities of Groupe Le Massif and is part of its sustainable development and social engagement program. "This is a natural extension of our corporate mission, which is to encourage healthy lifestyles by fostering a love of sports, particularly among local residents, including youth," emphasized Charles-Antoine Choquette, Vice-President and General Manager of Groupe Le Massif.
Privileges are also granted to the population of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François in the form of free access and reduced rates during seasonal residents' days. The reciprocal membership agreement between Mont Grand-Fonds and Le Massif de Charlevoix in January each year, support for ski clubs, and various regional organizations—particularly through Horizon Charlevoix and the “L’Appel de la montagne” challenge, which aids several organizations—are also part of Groupe Le Massif's mission to support the community.
