THREE NEW APPOINTMENTS AT LE MASSIF DE CHARLEVOIX!

Québec City, August 30 2010 – Groupe Le Massif is pleased to welcome three new executives to its management team, namely Stéphanie Roy as Director of Communications, Germain Barrette as Director of Mountain Operations and Annie Wagner Bouthillier as Supervisor of Mountain Events and Sponsorships.
Stéphanie Roy: Director – Communications
With 11 years experience in the various sectors pertaining to communications, Mrs Roy has been acting as communications strategy advisor on the executive level at Université Laval prior to joining the Le Massif team. In the past, she has also held positions with Développement international Desjardins, Groupe Gignac communication marketing as well as on the organizing committee of the IVth Jeux de la Francophonie in 2001. Over the past few years, she has specialized in strategic planning and communications management, especially ones in link with sustainable development. She holds a Master’s degree in public communications, and a Bachelor’s degree in news writing and communications.
"Among the challenges facing her are the implementation of a communication strategy for the Massif de Charlevoix development project as a whole, including its external players, and the maintenance of ties with the community," explained Frédéric Gonzalo, vice-president of marketing and communications at Groupe Le Massif. "She will also be called upon to develop internal communication mechanisms between Groupe Le Massif’s various business entities, or more specifically between the Farm, the Mountain and the Train," he stated. Entering her duties immediately, Stéphanie Roy will be based at the Québec City office.
Germain Barrette: Director – Mountain Operations
With over 30 years’ experience in the ski industry, Mr Barrette has occupied the position of general manager at Le Parc régional de Val D’Irène for the past 13 years. Past president of L’Association touristique de la Gaspésie from 2007 to 2009, he has been a member of the board of directors for L’Association des stations de ski du Québec from 2003 to 2010, acted as technical delegate for the International Ski Federation (FIS) from 2002 to 2009, and coached the men’s and women’s Canadian alpine ski teams in the World Cup downhill discipline from 1981 to 1997. Mr Barrette will take his post October 4.
Annie Wagner Bouthillier: Supervisor – Mountain Events & Sponsorships
With a Bachelor’s degree in leisure sciences and a Master’s in business administration, Mrs Wagner Bouthillier is returning to the mountain after a two-year absence. Having previously occupied the positions of event & marketing coordinator & patrol supervisor from 2006 to 2008, she left the firm to pursue new professional experiences as a supervisor at Le Centre de Communications Santé des Capitales. As of today, she will be assuming the planning and coordination of all mountain events, shows and sponsorships.
"Mrs Bouthillier’s return is much anticipated," mentioned Pierre Raymond, general manager of the Mountain. "Her management skills, creativity and her fresh, seasoned approach will help us present a highly original event and music programme – one that matches our reputation. We are equally thrilled to count on Mr Barrette to manage the one hundred or so employees who work on lifts, snowmaking, grooming, maintenance and mountain safety. His expertise will be an important asset in our development."
Le Massif de Charlevoix
Le Massif de Charlevoix is a four-season tourism and recreation project representing a $230 million dollar investment. Beyond Le Massif Ski Area, this original project spans from Baie-Saint-Paul to Petite-Rivière-Saint-François in the Charlevoix. Among other features, the on-territory offer includes a touring train and rail shuttle, diversified lodgings of which a 150-room hotel, and a multifunctional venue. The site is destined to become a genuine experiential laboratory focused on tourism.
