Le Massif de Charlevoix is an unusual ski area. Not only are trails directly accessed via the summit of the mountain where one of the country’s most spectacular riverside sceneries unfurls, but it also boasts the longest skiable vertical in Eastern Canada, and a microclimate promising average annual precipitations in excess of 6 metres – elevating the ski area to the top three best Canadian powder destinations, and to the rank of number one best new Eastern powder possibility for off-piste adventure. Beyond its natural attributes, each year Le Massif has renewed its visitor experience and the 2009-2010 season is no exception to the rule. Québec City – Le Massif Shuttle: All Aboard!
Seeking to reduce its ecological footprint and bring the mountain closer to the city, Le Massif is launching a new daily transportation service to Québec City, operating from December 26 to March 28. Departing from both Place Sainte-Foy and the tourist information centre across from the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac Hotel, it is offered to Ski & Stay guests and sports enthusiasts from the Greater Québec City Area. A pass with unlimited access to the shuttle is also suggested for as little as $59 (adults), $49 (13-25 yrs) and $39 (7-12 yrs). Children 6 years and under travel free.
Play Hooky All Season Long!
The SnowSchool is offering packages over 8 consecutive Sundays. A program tailored for children 3-15 yrs includes a day lift ticket, equipment and a 2-hour lesson from $55 per visit. For $67, young skiers and riders from the provincial capital enjoy two-way transportation between Le Massif and Québec City accompanied by an instructor, as well as a 5-hour lesson. Adults and seniors for their part are invited to 4 gate-training sessions – each Wednesday in January, 10am till noon – for $199.
