Galaxie

Singer, songwriter and composer Olivier Langevin - qualified by many as a young genius - is the backbone of projet Galaxie.

The guitarist produced TIGRE ET DIESEL launched last February 15 2011.

Since the album’s release, the band has been on a whirlwind tour. The seven musicians play before a full house nightly on their impressive 40-concert tour that began April 30 2011.

Their memorable performance at Montreal’s Métropolis in front of over 1,500 fans has been qualified by many journalists, industry players and spectators as the best performance in the 2011edition of Les Francofolies de Montréal.

To this imposing series of concerts comes a nomination for the prestigious Polaris Prize, in last year’s Best Canadian Album category. Galaxie was the only French finalist in the top ten, alongside Québec compatriots Arcade Fire.

Piste 01, their first videoclip cut from their album has been on high rotation at Musique Plus for several weeks now.

With 5,000 copies already sold, this opus shows all the signs of being nominated on the Québec music scene for the 2011Best Alternative Album Award (Gala de l’ADISQ).
