LE MASSIF DE CHARLEVOIX LAUNCHES 30TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON
1 December 2010
Charlevoix, December 1 2010– As of this Saturday, December 4, ski and snowboard enthusiasts will once again be riding the highest vertical East of the Canadian Rockies, at Le Massif de Charlevoix. On opening weekend, slide fans will be offered 6 trails in the Camp-Boule Express Sector, with optimal snow conditions on a base that exceeds one metre.
What’s New? 30 Dazzling Birthday Sparklers + a Gift of $16M!
Thanks to a $16M investment inscribed on Groupe Le Massif’s four-season tourism and recreation plan, skiers and riders will appreciate a flurry of new installations, of which the eight-passenger per cabin Le Massif Express gondola as well as four additional trails – two of which are located in the new Donald Bouchard Beginner Area served by a Magic Carpet® for novices, as well as a platter lift. This season, to complete the overall experience offered to both tall and small, experts and novices alike, is an array of guest services relocated at the summit, reviewed and upgraded trail access to the base and triple the off-trail terrain.
No More Line-Ups, More Time on the Trails – with the Chip Card!
The new automatic access system has you on-trail in two flicks of a lamb’s tail, thanks to a new radio-frequency identification device (RFID). A first visit to the mountain provides riders with a chip card that can be reloaded on our website starting December 24 – meaning no more trips to the Ticket Office before making first tracks. All lifts now have gates equipped with scanners that read the card and check its validity. Simply carry it on you, in your pocket, and you’re good to go!
Tricks to Ski & Save
Countless solutions are offered to sport enthusiasts of all ages and calibers for enjoying winter – and winter savings. 4-Day and 7-Day Le Massif Cards, available at pre-season rates until December 3 inclusively, offer up to 50% off the price of a regular day lift ticket. And to fully appreciate their mountain getaway, vacationers choose from packages that feature 3 Nights & 3 Days of Skiing for the Price of 2. Many punctual promotions are also sure to thrill slide fans throughout the season.
