A coming together of veteran Montreal reggae artists, Deya has but one goal: to use the power of their music to convey a progressive message. The band does not moralize but professes a profound awareness of the global situation, of what is at stake today – both internationally as well as locally. KULCHA CONNECTION (Reggae Dance-Hall)
The Kulcha Connection is a twosome composed of Face T, a Québécois who grew up in Jamaica and Rebel, a Québécois of Haitian background raised in Montreal. Digging down deep into the roots of reggae then clearly blending in today’s sound, they take on urban culture themes and express themselves with humour mingled with an edge of protest. Their dance hall reggae is delivered in French, Creole and Jamaican patois, a glorious platform for the warm tones of singer Rebel’s voice and Face-T’s energetic « Toast ». Here’s Kulcha Connection!
