The Mountain
Base
Located along the coast, the Base is a veritable junction where mountain, river and the village of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François meet. The new gondola will take you from the train station to the Base chalet, departure point for lodging and 4-season lifts. The area opens onto a lively public square lined with restaurants and boutiques. Over 200 lodging units can be found here, varying from bridge-homes to country inns, loft apartments to destination spa.
All units feature stunning river views that change with the seasons, tides and time of day.
From the Base, a number of four-season activities are readily available, from hiking, to sea kayaking, to riverside tai-chi. In winter, blues give way to shades of white and the fun in guaranteed!
Summit
Due to the unique geomorphology and climate of this part of the Mountain, the Summit feels like a world slightly apart from the rest.
Inspired by the typical villages of northern Quebec, the area consists of a series of micro-environments organized around low-density lodging.
Lodging options at the Summit are many, ranging from chalets on stilts to wind-homes clinging to the side of its craggy rock face, where winds of up to 100km/hr sweep the landscape. Yet life at the top is warmed by a healthy nightlife, animated by bars, restaurants and live shows.
The Summit invariably offers optimal views of Le Massif’s forests, the river and surrounding islands. It is the departure point for a variety of activities and offers a selection of alternate dining options that vary according to current trends. For the bravest of souls, a luge trail that transforms into a downhill bike trail in summer careens down 10 km of mountainside.
Other than snow sports and the luge, there are a number of means of transportation to take you around the Summit: snowshoe, dogsled and the horse-drawn sleigh, to name a few, make it easy access to forget about your car for the duration of your stay.
Spa
The Spa at the Base embraces the abundant nature that surrounds it, while inviting those who wish to indulge in the peace a little longer, to enjoy its luxury lodging.
The Spa offers a menu of original treatments, from Nordic to Scandinavian, therapeutic to relaxation.
