About us
Le Massif de Charlevoix is a 4-season recreation and tourism project representing an investment of $230 million (between now and 2013).
Starting from the Le Massif ski station, the project stretches between Charlevoix’s Baie-Saint-Paul and Petite-Rivière-Saint-François. Its major hubs include a new Destination Train and rail shuttle, a 500-person, multifunctional conference space and close to 400 lodging units.
The project lays the groundwork for a living laboratory for experiments in tourism, technology and environmental sustainability.

With a global perspective, international scale and authentic approach, the vision for Le Massif de Charlevoix is a reinvention of the very notion of tourism through principles of cultural inclusion and sustainable development.
Its mission is to place humanity at the heart of a territory replete with creativity, originality, wonder and freedom, allowing nature to provide sensorial stimulation and an experience of total wellbeing through relaxed contemplation, pure enjoyment and personal challenge.
The values that guide the creation of Le Massif de Charlevoix are three and enduring: respect, enjoyment and challenge.
Le Massif de Charlevoix is the brainchild of Daniel Gaulthier, rising star in the community development field and best known for having founded one of Quebec and Canada’s greatest cultural exports: the worldwide phenomenon known as Le Cirque du Soleil.
By virtue of a symbiotic combination of creativity, authenticity, cultural and social sensitivity, Le Massif de Charlevoix allows its bucolic backdrops, inimitable experiences, gorgeous gastronomy and storied service to shine.
The goal of this tremendous project is to develop sustainable tourism through profoundly personal, visceral, original and environmental experiences within one of Quebec’s most beloved regions, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 1989.
