LAST WEEKEND TO CELEBRATE SPRING SPIRIT AT LE MASSIF!
Charlevoix, April 6 2010 – To wrap up this year’s slide season, Le Massif de Charlevoix is presenting two days full of events and activities at the mountain. The weekend of April 10-11 heralds in the Red Bull Playoffs, King of the Hill, the big Splash as well as the last free Show-z-après-ski featuring DJ Slipmatt – an exciting medley of friendly, sporting and festive get-togethers showcasing Le Massif’s Spring Spirit perfectly.
Saturday, April 10: The Red Bull Playoffs – Great On-Snow Finale…
The spirit of the Hab-Nordique rivalry perpetuates itself on-snow at the Red Bull Playoffs as pro-rider teams from Montreal and Québec City challenge one another’s line-ups over three periods, competing on special features designed for the occasion. The stand-off starts early morning in the terrain park environment, with the action continuing into a second period. Competitors will face off in a last and final round near the Summit Chalet at the end of the afternoon, for the enjoyment of spectators.
DJ Slipmatt Wraps up the Free Show-z-Après-Ski Series
Fun blazes a trail right into the Summit Chalet at 4pm, when DJ Slipmatt and his crafty blend of hip-hop and electro delivers a high octane performance to further energize slide fans, as he concludes Le Massif’s 2009-10 Show-z-après-ski Series. Skiers, riders and stars-to-be are later invited to display their endless talent by singing along to a guest karaoke band.
Sunday, April 11: King of the Hill & Splash – Spring Fever at its Hottest
Nostalgia buffs with a penchant for teased bangs, mullet haircuts and neon one-piece suits are going to be tickled pink with the King of the Hill Event in homage of the ‘80s. At 1:30pm, the more daring may enter the mountain’s 2nd big Splash, an event where contestants must glide across a 60-foot pond with brio, style and originality. The less brave are sure to enjoy the show, gathered around the pond set up in the terrain park, where a guest DJ will set the party mood with some awesome tempos.
2010-11 Season Passes: 20% Off until April 16
Skiers and riders receive up to 20% off by acquiring their 2010-11 season pass now. Offered until April 16 inclusively, this deal applies to various passholder plans, each one sweetened with privileges usually granted to passholders, plus a minimum of $130 in gift cards exchangeable at any mountain service point.
Le Massif de Charlevoix
Le Massif de Charlevoix is a tourism and recreation project representing a $230M investment. Beyond Le Massif Ski Area, this original project spans from Baie-Saint-Paul to Petite-Rivière-Saint-François in the Charlevoix. Among other features, the on-territory offer includes a touring train and rail shuttle, close to 400 lodging units of which a 150-room hotel, as well as a 500-seat multifunctional venue. The site is destined to become a genuine experiential laboratory focused on tourism.
